Food 10, Hygiene 3

Standard Tap ( http://www.standardtap.com ) has a reputation for having one of the best and innovative bar menus in Philly and justifiably so.  Great beers, a staunch following of neighboring artists, and food good enough to make it a destination for the menu alone, made Standard Tap the standard bearer for the resurgence of NoLib from early on.  A recent brunch brought corned beef hash deserving of recognition from the great Jewish delis.  One of the best corned beef hash you'll find with recognizable chunks of lean corned beef and potatoes leaves only lingering good taste and none of the signature residual greasiness on the lips and tongue.  Smoked whitefish, Nova lox, and whitefish salad and water bagel platter can again withstand the critique of inveterate Jewish deli mavens.  Excellent coffee from a genre known for coffee Hell.  Courteous and accomodating service from a young staff but the urge to dunk each one, and most of the bric a brac, into a hot soapy bath is strong, so night time visits are strongly recommended.
